String Octet

This began an attempt at a second version of my painting “Fiddler on The Roof”.  I liked the new fiddler but didn’t like the new roof or landscape so I painted over those elements, keeping the central fiddler and the sky.

The musicians are are comprised of legato phrasing slurs, the black triangles which resemble tail-pieces, define and delineate the individual players.

The string octet represented here is the identical line up to the one that recorded the Beatles’ Eleanor Rigby, four violins, two violas, two cellos.
