Rubik’s Keyboard

I was never much good at completing any Rubik’s cube in any amount of time; I imagine there are whiz kids on this planet who can, in under 30 seconds, twist and turn all this 9 octave keyboard onto a single facing.

This painting was done in a period where I was beginning to master the technique of using masking tape to create straight lines and tight edges. It is a slow method of painting which results in the highly defined graphic effects I was seeking at this time.

At this point I think I’ll stick to playing and painting keyboards, leaving the Rubik’s cubes to the math whizzes of the world.
