Guitar Woman

After a friend had been robbed of an original Norval Morrisseau painting, I attempted to fill the empty space on her wall with this distorted depiction of a guitar. It was the first time I’d noticed how the waist of a guitar body resembled that of a woman’s.

Painted in 2004, this was my first guitar painting. Eventually, guitars would become my second most frequently painted instrument.
