Fractured Piano

Part of my series of tall pianos. Once I began distorting the realistic proportions of the upright piano, I attempted to distort those distorted realities.

Inspired by the bent keyboard folded across the corner of a piano sculpture I created using the box from a bottle of J&B Reserve 15 year old scotch, I started tinkering with a two dimensional keyboard representation that was folded across the center. My daughter Amelia sketched something out that I loved and adapted to canvas. A line was extended from every horizontal and vertical on the piano to the edge of the canvas, then colored in for one of the more insane pianos I have created.

No scotch was wasted in the creation of this painting.
