Four Bar Loop

A loop is a musical phrase, most commonly one of 1,2, 4 or 8 bars duration, that is repeated  for extended periods of time. The advent of digital recording and the evolution of hip hop music has rendered looping as a principle technique for contemporary music makers.

I wanted to explore a color sequence as a musical loop. I took a four bar musical staff and proceed to create patterns in the staves, background and outer edges. Starting from any position in the staff, backward or forwards, following the color pattern the viewer experiences a loop, i.e.  a repetition of the color sequence, every four bars.
