Rothko Duet

Mark Rothko was an brilliant and influential American painter best known for his huge canvases featuring massive blocks of colored floating rectangles.

Here two pianos are represented by Rothko like color blocks over a layered metallic blue color field, the keyboards muted to blend into the background rather than dominate as they do in so many of my paintings.

Acrylic on canvas   16 x 20
