Lollipop Music #2

This is one of the first paintings where I painted the main subject, in this case lollipop colored quarter notes, right to all four edges of the canvas.

Over a dark magenta music staff background, some of the quarter note stems point upward, some stems point downward creating an effect where the notes are floating in both directions simultaneously, thus activating the surface.
