How To Catch a Mouse With Sugar

Visitors to my studio always stop at this piece, a mixed media creation incorporating a mousetrap, rubber mouse, keyboard and reduced photocopy of sheet music.

The keyboard acts as bait, the sheet music is a reduction of Stanley Turrentine’s jazz composition “Sugar”.  The mouse is evaluating the situation; should he decide to do a little sight reading and play the composition on the music stand…ZAP!
